Parent Coaching

This service provides individual support to parents who are meeting parenting challenges. We will start with an individualized assessment of needs, a detailed exploration of historical and current factors that impact the parenting relationship. I will also assess child related factors that are associated with any complex needs, service intensity can vary depending on the needs of the parent. I will meet individually with parents in settings selected by the parent. We will work to increase parental knowledge of child development and tailor this information to the specific needs of the parent and child, taking into account level of intellectual functioning, mental health issues, life stressors and family dynamics. A commitment to attending each session and a willingness to challenge thoughts and work on identified problem areas will be the key components to a successful therapeutic partnership.
